The last burial was that of my father, Silas Lancaster. We thought the lot was endowed. It has always been cared for because there is a Civil War soldier buried on the lot. It seems like we can remember seeing an endowment marker there. We are trusting that you will look this up and make sure before cashing the check. In case you have to cash the check would you let us know what endowment is for. If it was endowed, it was done by some other member of the family before 1911 at least. Therefore we have no certificate or receipt and would not know who has it. It was probably done by one of my father's brothers, Jay Lancaster or Benjamin Lancaster. They are not living. Our grandfather, who is buried on the lot, Elizure Lancaster, laid out Burr Oak cemetery and got the lot at that time. By the way, I believe LaMar Zimmer was in our class in the Burr Oak school. Mr Link was born in Burr Oak, March 23, 1905, a son of L. Lee and Eva (Oliver) Link, and with the exception of a few years in Florida, had been a Burr Oak resident all his life. He was first married to Alice Calloway, who died in 1951. On Feb 7, 1954, in Three Rivers he married Margaret Arick. Mr Link was employed at Boyer Lumber Co in Burr Oak 20 years, had spent five years in the grocery business, and for the past several years was sexton of Burr Oak Township cemeteries. He was associated with the Boy Scouts of American 50 years; was a 50-year member of the Masonic Order serving as past patron of Nitram Lodge no 188, F and AM, St Petersburg, Florida and past master of the Eagle Lodge No 123, F and AM of Burr Oak. Also was a 28 years member of the Order of Eastern Star. Mr Link was active in the Burr Oak United Methodist Church and in the St Petersburg United Methodist Church while a resident in Florida. Surviving are his wife, Margaret; six children; Harry Lee Link, Grand Junction, Colorado; David F Link, Lecatno, Florida; Mrs Dale (Evelyn) Brunner, Burr Oak; Mrs Thurman (Dorothy) Cossairt, Burr Oak; Mary Lou Link, Denver, Colorado., and Warren Lee Link, Mendon; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one step-great-grandchild; one brother, Donald Link, Watkinsville, Georgia; and one aunt, Mrs Audrey Mizner, Berea, Ohio.
