Edward E. Decker

Hi, my name is Denise Frederick and I am the co-ordinator for the St. Joseph County USGenWeb pages. If you would like to contribute Civil War information or pictures to these Civil War pages, please let me know. The following information, submitted by Dave Scott , is about his ancestor that fought in the Civil War in the 15th Regiment Michigan Infantry, Company A.

This is a picture of my GGGranduncle, Edward E. Decker, who served in Company A, 15th Michigan Infantry. He was born on 9 January 1841 in Kent County, PA and was the son of John H. Decker and Anna M. Wagner. On 12 February 1862, along with his nephew, Daniel E. Decker, they enlisted in Burr Oak. They both served with their unit at Shiloh. Edward was discharged due to illness on 11 August 1862 at Cornith, MS. Daniel was discharged on 18 August 1862 due to "deafness incurred at Pittsburg Landing on April 6, 1862." Also have another GGGranduncle, Edwin I. Start, who also served at Shiloh with Co.A, 15th MI.
