CASTLE

  30 Jul 1972----Mrs. Eliza J. (Jennie) CASTLE , 88, of Colon Died Monday evening at Fairview hospital in Centrevill, Mich., where she had been  under care for the past five years.
   She was born in St Joseph County, Mich., on Aug. 25th, 1883, a daughter of Amos W. and Sarah R. (Michael) WAGNER, and had lived most all of her life in and around Colon. She was married to Rex W. CASTLE. He prededed her in death in 1945. Her entire life was spent as a homemaker. She attended both the Baptist and Methodist churches.
   Mrs. CASTLE is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Mae BAILEY of Sturgis, Mich.; Mrs. Llyle (Matie) NORMAN of Battle Creek, Mich.; Mrs. Francis (Mary) CONN, of Riverdale, Mich.; two sons Elywn R. of Colon, Mich.; Denton W. of Coldwater, Mich.; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and nephews and nieces. One sister and three brothers preceded her in death.
   Relatives and friends may call at the Schipper funeral home, from where services will be held on Thursday at 1:30pm, with Rev. Arron KAUKONEN of the Baptist church officiating. Interment will be made in Lakeside Cemetery, Colon, Mich.

COLCHIN


   Parchment ~ Cedric J Colchin, 82, of Cooper Township, a former Sturgis resident and owner of Colchin Electric and Refrigeration Co., of Sturgis, died 4 November 1997.
   He was born 24 October 1915 in Decatur, Indiana, a son of Clem and Gertrude (Omlor) Colchin.
   A veteran of World War II, he served with the Army 38th Engineer Corp in Europe, Africa and Ascension Island.
  On 22 September 1945, he married Margaret "Betty" Colchin.
  A past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus of Sturgis, he was a member of St Ambrose Catholic Church. He also enjoyed traveling, gardening and reading.
   Surviving are his wife, one sister-in-law, Jane Colchin of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews.
   Relatives and friends may call from 2-4 and 6:30-8:30 p.m. today at the Parchment-Redmond Funeral Home, 2300 East G. Avenue, where a scripture service is at 7p.m.. Mass is at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St Ambrose Catholic Church with the Rev John M. Steffey officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Mausoleum.
   Memorials may be directed to the St Ambrose Catholic Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

CURTIS

15 June 1932----Arthur S. CURTISis the son of Bert (Albert) and Leafey (DeLong) CURTIS was born in Three Rivers, March 17, 1910 and has spent his entire life here, attending the Three Rivers school sand having been emplyed at the Eddy Paper Corporation mills the past four years.
On November 23, 1929, he was married to Irma RHOADS (BLANK) who survives.
During the earlier years of his life he attended the Methodist Protestant church and Sunday school and has made many friends by his pleasant and happy disposition.
Besides the widow, his is survived by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Bert CURTIS of this city, two sisters, Mrs. Coral FARR, Mrs. Byron MAINER, a brother Jewell D. CURTIS, a step-son, Robert Rhoads, four neices and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held from the Haring chapel at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon.  Rev. Wm. J. KENNEDY officiating.  Interment will be made at Riverside. Transcribed from an original newspaper clipping, 'Three Rivers News', serving the St. Joseph Co., Michigan area.
