ANDERSON

Looking for any information concerning my father, Theodore ANDERSON. I do not know my grandparents first names. He had several brothers and one sister. His sisters name was Margaret (married name unknown), I believe she was married to a doctor or someone in the medical field. His brother's names, whom I remember, are Vigo, Hulgar and Iler. Iler was employed in the mines and died of a heart attack while at work in 1954. I believe my father was employed in the mines during 1951-52. My father was married to Eleanor Josephine PAVLIK sometime between 1940-45. He has two daughters: Joanna Karen ANDERSON, born 9/24/47 and Jacquelynn Kay ANDERSON, born 9/16/48. I believe my grandparents died sometime between 1956 and 1958. There were many aunts, uncles and cousins living in the upper peninsula, Flint and Detroit. My father was last known to reside in Detroit in 1959. I believe my grandfather was a conductor or ticketmaster with the railroad. He retired between 1949-52. My grandmother's first name may have been Anna. They owned a very modest house. My father married my mother, Eleanor Josephine PAVLIK, sometime between 1940-45. They were divorced in 1955. Any information concerning my father or his family would be very much appreciated.

CHAPMAN

Looking for information about the Nathaniel CHAPMAN family. The Marriage license we have says he was age 29 in 1863 and his wife Martha ORCUTT was age 17. This marriage took place in Leonidas 8 Feb 1863. There is a death certificate for a Nathaniel J. CHAPMAN in Kalamazoo County. He died Dec. 5, 1913 age 80 3months 14 days. Nathaniel J. CHAPMAN's birthplace was Pennsylvania. His profession was a carpenter and his father was Nathaniel CHAPMAN. Mother's first name not readable, but last name was LaBAR. Nothing is known about Nathaniel CHAPMAN's 4 brothers that were from Pennsylvania. My husband is supposed to be related to Johnny (Appleseed) CHAPMAN. This information is according to family stories.
Nathaniel CHAPMAN comes out of nowhere in 1863. There is a gravesite in Mendon cemetery (cemetery is 2 miles West of Mendon on M60). All dates and wife's name are unreadable. Found this cemetery site by accident five years ago before deciding to research the CHAPMAN family. Visited this same cemetery site three weeks ago and someone has put a large CHAPMAN marker. There are other graves that we think are CHAPMAN but are in very bad condition and can't read. Does anyone have any suggestions? My husband is the great grandson of the Nathaniel CHAPMAN we are looking for. He is a only child, his father Nathaniel E. CHAPMAN (no middle name) was also an only child of Harold CHAPMAN and Gertrude (EBERHARD) CHAPMAN, originally from Vicksburg, Kalamazoo County, MI. Harold CHAPMAN was one of seven children born to Nathaniel CHAPMAN and Martha ORCUTT.
14 Dec 1997---UPDATE: Have found Nathaniel J. and Martha (ORCUTT) CHAPMAN in Vicksburg cemetery. Sidney and Sarah CHAPMAN (Nathaniel J. brother) in Mendon cemetery and also their parents Nathaniel and Anne(LaBAN) CHAPMAN in Mendon cemetery.  In Mendon cemetery there are some small graves (probably children) we cannot read.  We know the CHAPMANs came from Paupak, Pike Co., Penn.
