He was born in Noble township, St Joseph Co, Michigan 4 May 1868 and was married 24 December 1888 to Mary King. He is survived by his wife, mother and four brothers. His obituary further states he was a barber, owning his own shop in Burr Oak which he sold due to his bad health where he removed himself for a short time to live in the Southwest for his lungs, moving to Florida where he opened another barber shop and then died.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs John (JaNean) Houck of Howe; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Claudia Stoltz of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, Jack Mizner. No visitation. Graveside services and burial at Burr Oak Cemetery with the Rev John Long officiating. She had lived at her current address since April 1930, coming from Bronson. She graduated from Sturgis High School in 1915 and furthered her education at the Kalamazoo Normal College where she received her teaching degree. She had taught school two years at the Tobey Country School, Burr Oak Township, and also was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bronson Baptist Church, and the Burr Oak Home Club. She had served several years as a Burr Oak 4-H Leader. Surviving are one daughter, Maxine M Mock, Burr Oak; two sons, Clare A Mock and Earl J Mock, both of Burr Oak; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters. Services were at the Schipper Funeral Home, Colon with David J Farrell officiating. Burial will follow in Burr Oak Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Sturgis Home Health Care or the charity of one's choice.
