DAVIDSON

  Burr Oak ~ Alan J. DAVIDSON, 82, formerly of Burr Oak, died 20 October 1995, at the Christian Heritage Card Center, Upland, California.
  He was born 16 August 1913, in Ovid, a son of Frank and Henrietta (SEARS) DAVIDSON.
  On 10 June 1935, he married Enid M. CRUM, in Coldwater. She died 17 July 1993.
  He was a California resident since February 1995. Before that, he had lived in Rancho Viejo, Taxas, eight years, coming from Burr Oak, where he had lived several years. He had owned and operat4ed the Davidson Supermarkets in Burr Oak and Bronson and he also was in partnership with Clarence SNYDER operating laundromats in Centreville, Bronson, Coldwater, Sturgis in Michigan and Angola, Indiana, until 1983. He was a member of the Los Fresnos United Methodist Church, Texas, the Burr Oak Eagles Loddge 124 F&AM, and the Bronson Rotary Club with more than 50 years of perfect attendance. He had received the Paul Harris Fellow and he was a former member of the Burr Oak United Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing golf and bridge.
  Surviving are one daughter, Sandra SCHMIDT, Pomona, California; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Susan DAVIDSON, Burr Oak; three grandchildren, Lisa Davidson JEROME, Royal Oak, Mark SCHMIDT, Portland, Oregon, and Julie SCHMIDT, Rancho Cucamonga, California; one sister, Ruth GWYNN, Longview, Texas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Sybil KIPP; and one brothers, Jesse DAVIDSON.
  There will be no visitation. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Burr Oak Cemetery, with the Rev. Millie FORWARD, Burr Oak United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements were handled by the Hackman ~ Foglesong Funeral Home, Sturgis.
  Memorial maay be directed to the Bronson Rotary Club or Burr Oak United Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

DAVIDSON

   Sturgis ~ Jack LaVerne Davis, 53, of 128 South Nottawa, Sturgis, and formerly of Three Rivers where he owned and operated a taxidermy shop, died 3 November 1997 at his home.
   He was born 26 March 1944 in Bendon, a son of Louis LaVern and Evelyn (StJohn) Davis. He resided in Three Rivers until he moved to Sturgis five years ago.
   He was employed as a construction worker for much of his life.
   A member of the National Rifle Association, he greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing.
   Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Davis of Colon and Tonya Davis of Anchorage, Alaska; one son, Troy Davis of Alaska; five sisters, Mrs Roger (Donna) De Hoff of Leonidas, Rosena Porter of Constantine, Mrs Kenneth (Elsie) Garlets of Howe, Indiana, Mrs Keith (Marian) Pletcher of Middlebury, Indiana, and Mrs Mike (Betty) Grahm of Niles; two brothers, Larry Hendrickson of Panama City, Florida, and Ronald Davis of North Fort Myers, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one brother and one sister.
   There will be no vistation. Creamation has taken place. A memorial service is at 1p.m. Thursday at the Hackman-Foglesong Funeral Home of Sturgis. The Rev David Porter of the Colon Church of Christ will officiate.
   Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Sturgis or Three Rivers Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

DECKER

  Burr Oak ~ Anna L. DECKER, 86, 234 Fourth Street, died 14 March 1982 at Sturgis Hospital.
  She was born in Branch County. She attended Lindley School in Branch County and graduated from Bronson High School. She attended Kalamazoo Normal and taught two years at Lindley School.
  She married Vern W KEESLAR, who died two years after their marriage. She then returned to teaching and taught one year in Mottville and two years in Burr Oak before marrying Victor E.
DECKER. He preceded her in death.
  She made her home in Albion 10 years, Hillsdale four years and Burr Oak the past 42 years.
  she had served as president of the Albion Women's Club, president of the Patrick  Leo Harelon American Legion Auxiliary and was a member of the Albion College Dramatic Players.
  She was president of Victor Screw Products, Burr Oak, Past Worthy Matron of Order of Eastern Star, St. Joseph County president of Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Burr Oak Methodist Church.
  She also had served on the Burr Oak Board of Education nine years and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Colon.
  Surviving are a daughter, Mary Elizabeth ARBOGAST, Palo Alto, California; a son, Victor J.
DECKER, Burr Oak; give grandsons; two great-grandchildren.

  Mrs. DECKER was born 27 April 1885, daughter of Adolphis and Matilda (FULLER) MILLS. She also was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
  There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the Burr Oak United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Wade PANSE will officiate.
  Memorials may be directed to the Burr Oak Methodist Church Sunday School. Envelopes are available at the church or at Rosenberg ~ Schipper Funeral Home.

Victor J. DECKER

  Burr Oak ~ Victor J DECKER, 66, 420 Eagle St., died Feb 21, 1990, at Sturgis Hospital, following an extended illness.
  He was born May 23, 1923, in Albion, a son of Victor E and Anna (MILLS) DECKER.
  On Dec. 17, 1943, he married Alene Belle FENNELL, in Angola, Ind.
  He graduated from Burr Oak High School and was the president of Victor Screw Products, Burr Oak. He was a member of the Burr Oak United Methodist Church and the Neuman ~ Wenzel American Legion Post 73, Sturgis, and a life member of the Meridian Sun ~ Eagle Lodge 49. He was a veteran of World War II.
  Surviving are his  wife; one son, Victor James DECKER, Burr Oak; two grandchildren, Brian and Kelly DECKER, both of Burr Oak; one sister, Mary Elizabeth ARBOGAST, Palo Alto, Calif.; one aunt, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
  There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Burr Oak United Methodist Church with the Rev William BILLS officiating. Burial of the remains will be in Burr Oak Cemetery, with full military honors being conferred by the Captain John J. Kelley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1355. Arrangements were handled by the Rosenberg ~ Schipper Funeral Home, Sturgis.
  Memorial may be directed to the Burr Oak United Methodist Church or the Neuman ~ Wenzel American Legion Post 73. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
