Sturgis ~ Francis Paul KANE, 66, died 12 November 1989,
at his home, following a three-year illness.
He was born 13 June 1923, in Matteson Township, Branch
County, a son of Thomas and Effie
(MAYSTEAD) KANE.
On 21 November 1942, he married Pauline KENNEDY,
in Sturgis.
He had lived in Burr Oak most of his life and for the
past 12 years, he lived in Sturgis. He was employed at Victor Screw Products,
Burr Oak, 16 years, and at Kirsch Company, 28 years, as an industrial machine
repairman. He retired in May 1985. He was a veteran of World War II, where
he served as a medic. He was a member of the Captain John J Kelley Veterans
of Foreign Wars Post 1355 and a 30-year member of the Burr Oak Volunteer
Fire Department.
Surviving are his wife; one sone, David Paul KANE,
Brooklyn; two daughters, Mrs Karl (Mary)
LITTMAN Jr. and Mrs Richard (Peggy) GRABE, both of Sturgis;
six grandchildren; one sister, Mrs Jesse (Helen) FAGER, Colon; two
brothers, Gerald KANE and Arlyn KANE, both of Sturgis; and
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister,
Marie
HAGELGANS; and three brothers, Kenneth, Edwin and Harry KANE.

the Rosenberg ~ Schipper Funeral Home, Sturgis, where the family will receive
friends from 7 ~ 9 p.m. today and 2 ~ 4 p.m. and 7 ~ 9 p.m. Tuesday. Services
are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. William
BILLS, Burr Oak United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be
in Burr Oak Cemetery, with full military rites being conferred by the Captain
John J Kelley VFW Post 1355.
Memorials may be directed to Sturgis Hospice Care, Inc.,
the St Joseph County American Cancer Society or the Burr Oak United Methodist
Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Marion D 'Buss' KENTNER
circa 17 July 1997~Bronson ~ Marion D 'Buss' KENTNER, 79, of Bronson
and a former 45 ~ year employee of Victor Screw Products, Burr Oak, died
July 18, 1997, at the Community Health Center of Branch County following
a six ~ week illness.
He was born Feb. 7, 1918, in Leon, Iowa, a son of Frances KENTNER,
and moved to Burr Oak, Mich. at the age of 4, and then to Bronson in 1954.
On Jan. 18, 1941, he married Pauline SMITH in Bronson.
She died April 19, 1993.
A graduate of Burr Oak High School, he retired from Victor Screw
Products in Burr Oak where he worked for more than 45 years. He enjoyed
driving around on country roads.
Surviving are a daughter, Jan KENTNER of Sturgis, and
two daughters and son-in-law, Ann J and Gary FERGUSONof Sylvania,
Ohio, and Jean and Tom GOVUS of Ellijay, Ga.; five grandchildren;
three brothers, Robert STRAW of Fort Sumpter, S.C., and Gordon STRAW
and Herman STRAW, both of Orland, Ind.; and four sisters, Annabelle
MORLEY, of Toledo, Ohio, Norma ENGLE of Orland, Ind., Elaine
CONRAD of Fort Wayne, Ind. and Marjorie PETTY of Fremont,
Ind; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife
and one brother, Arden STRAW.
Relatives and friends may call from 2 ~ 4 and 6 ~ 8 p.m. today
at the Kolcz Funeral Home of Bronson, where services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday
with the Rev Charles RICHARDS of the United Methodist Church of
Coldwater officiating. Burial will be in Burr Oak Cemetery, Burr Oak.
Memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association.

Bronson ~ Pauline Elizabeth KENTNER, 72, 1035 Burr
Oak Road, died April 19, 1993, at the Branch County Community Health Center,
Coldwater.
She was born 30 July 1920, in Steuben County, Indiana, a daughter
of Pual and Hattie (BLATTER) SMITH.
On 18 January 1941, she married Marion KENTNER, in Bronson.
She moved to Burr Oak in 1939 and to Bronson in 1954. She enjoyed
needlework, reading and her garden.
Surviving are her husband; children, Gary and Ann Jo FERGUSON,
Sylvania, Ohio, Jim and Jan. D. KREIENBRINK, Sturgis, and Tom and
Jean GOVUS, Ellijay, Georgia; five grandchildren, Matthew KEESLAR.
Nathan KEESLAR, Katie FERGUSON, Michael GOVUS and
Will GOVUS; three brothers, Walter SMITH, Tekonsha, John
SMITH and Leonard SMITH, both of Quincy; and five sisters,
Marie SMITH, Coldwater, Mildred WILSON, North Adams, Yuvon
TAYLOR, Dade City, Florida, Alice GERMAN, Burr Oak, and Thelma
WONDERS, Bronson. She was preceded in death by one son, John KENTNER,
in 1944.
The family will receive friends from 2 ~ 4 p.m. and 6 ~ 8 p.m.
Wednesday at the Kolcz Funeral Home, Bronson, where services are at 1 p.m.
Thursday. The Rev. Charles RICHARDS will officiate. Burial will
follow in Burr Oak Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association.

Mendon ~ Jeffery Lyle Kline, 39, of Mendon, died 4 November 1997 at Bronson Methodist Hospital Trauma Unit from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on 3 November at M-66 and M-86, north of Sturgis.
He was born 20 July 1958 in Three Rivers, a son of Lyle and
Sherrill (Heminger) Kline. He resided in Constantine as a youth and graduated in 1977 from Constantine High School.
On 14 April 1979, he married Joy Hagenbuch in the Mottville Bible Church. They moved to Mendon in 1989 where he farmed, and he was employed at International Paper in Sturgis.
A member of the Three Rivers Bible Church, he also enjoyed fishing, woodworking and camping.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Dana, Laura and Jenna Kline, all of Mendon; his parents, Lyle and Sherrill Kline of Constantine; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Randy Kline and Michael and Kathleen Kline, all of Constantine, Andrea Gregory of Ozark, Alabama, and Connie Kline of Manitowoc, Wisconsin; two grandmothers, Mildred
Heminger of White Pigeon and Blanche Kline of Mottville;
his mother and father-in-law, Dale and Patricia Hagenbuch of Three Rivers, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers.
Relatives and friends may call from 2-5 and 7-9p.m. Friday at the Hohner Funeral Home in Three Rivers. Services are at 11a.m. Saturday at the Three Rivers Bible Church, 220 N Erie, with the Rev Stan Kesler
officiating. burial will be in the Contantine Cemetery.

Margaret Robinson, daughter of Clark and Mary Sanborn
Robinson, was born in Burr Oak township on 30 April 1890, and died
in California, 6 February 1914, of tuberculosis.
She was married to Berndie Vern Klassen in 1910,
and for some time they have been living in Denver, Colorado, and
in California.
It will be remembered that her father, mother and sister
also died of lung trouble, while residents of this village.
Mrs Klassen has many friends here. We learn that
the husband is now enroute here with the remains.
