John W. DECKER born 1816 in Union Co, PA. His family first lived in Seneca Co, OH and then removed to St. Joseph Co. MI.
John W. DECKER is the father of Lydia Adelaide DECKER, b 1860 in Colon, St Joseph Co. MI. Lydia DECKER married in November 1883 (in Burr Oak or Colon) to John SAYLES, b 1855 in St. Joseph Co, MI, d. Oct 7, 1900 Jamestown, Steuben Co., IN.
John SAYLES was the only child of Gus (G V) SAYLES and Rhoda BAKER (married first to Jesse IRELAND). Gus SAYLES was still living in 1900, at time of his son's death. Gus was the son of Daniel SAYLES who came to Fawn River, St Joseph Co. before 1850 from NY. Would like to hear from all SAYLES families in the area.
Chances are all DECKER families in St. Joseph County area are related. I have 100's of DECKER's information that goes back to the immigrant. Will share all of my 25 years of research.

SCRIBNER, SISSON and HEARTSUP
I am looking for the following surnames in Michigan:
SCRIBNER, SISSON and HEARTSUP.
I have an old photo album (c mid to late 1800's) with
many SCRIBNERs and SISSONs, but the majority of the
photos are not identified. One shows a John SCRIBNER,
age 33 years. One shows Mary M. SCRIBNER and her
husband Thomas SISSON. They are my
great-great-grandparents. Mary was born in New York
in 1836. Thomas was born in Michigan in 1833.
They had children in Michigan in 1854, 1856, and
1860, and in Iowa in 1869, 1870, and 1875.
One photo has the following printed on the back: G. W.
SCRIBNER, artist and proprietor, Boston Gallery of Art,
south side Chicago St., Sturgis, Michigan.
Mary's father was John SCRIBNER (not the same as the
one in the above-mentioned portrait, however). John was
born in NY. Mary's mother was Hanah HEARTSUP. She
too was born in NY. I have never seen the name
HEARTSUP anywhere, so please let me know if you
have ever heard of this surname.

Phineas WATROUS) in Dallas Co, IA 50 years later. I suspect she was born in 1842.
